So a few minutes ago while Whaleton and I were having our usual conversations with topics ranging from Girl Scout cookies to the amount of water we drink (its now a contest), I came across this Buzzfeed post.

I shared it with Whaleton and we read through it together and we both agreed on one thing: it is faulty. First of all Augustus Waters is BEHIND Harry Osborn?? Erik Lehnsherr and Henry Higgs are even on the list at all? SHERLOCK IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST? So we decide it needed revisions. Serious revisions. First of all some contestants will be upgraded or downgraded and some will be removed entirely! And a few new ones will be introduced, of course. And, maybe the most important change, its needs a new name. So introducing 2014...

1-Matt Smith as the Doctor

So TECHNICALLY Matt Smith "retired" from playing the Doctor in 2013...BUT he made a guest appearance as the Doctor in 2014 so it counts. I'm also in love with him and he is definitely the guy who made me squeal like a fangirl the most this year.

So yeah. There's that. Just a note, I kinda messed up because a feweof these guys weren't in movies that came out this year, but that I saw this year. Like Marius. 2012 I think? And Chase was 2012 too or maybe 2013... Anyway. Thanks for reading me go on and on about gorgeous men. I had quite a lot of fun with this post. And sorry again for the length. You can't rush perfection.

The Best Music Released in 2014

So a few days ago I started a blog post called "The Best Things That Came From 2014", But I discovered that it would be a REALLY long post and so I decided to break it into three or four segments. The first is music, the next is books and then movies and then (maybe) misc stuff (comics, TV shows, YouTube stuff.)
So without further ado....The best music (In my opinion) that was released in 2014.

Music

We all know that there were ton of breakout artists and cools songs and even albums that we had been waiting FOREVER for. But a lot of good music was skipped over. Some of my favorite songs/albums this year that weren't huge hits.....

Hopeful-Bars and Melody Ok to be honest this was a minor hit and so it isn't completely in the dark, but no one I know has heard of this song. Its a great song that two boys sang/rapped at the X Factor (they won third place) and its got a pretty awesome message. (Note: All the rap was written by the kid singing it.  This makes it a hundred times better.)

Heartbeat- Mat Kearney This is such a catchy song and its great for dancing. I love Mat Kearney (he totally reminds me of Neville Longbottom) and all of his music is awesome.

Come Alive-Rachel Taylor  This album is one of the best things to happen all year. All the music is catching and it has this kinda hardcore/strong female theme to it. My favorite song on this album would be Light A Fire. My one problem with this album is that it is really short. Only six songs.

You're Not Alone-Owl City I will never be able to stress enough how awesome Adam Young is. I seriously don't understand how everyone on the planet is not a huge fan. This song is so ridiculously amazing. According to Google Play I have listened to it 42 times....

Maybe Trapped Mostly Troubled-Tessa Violet This album is so cheerful and adorable. I will admit this music isn't for everyone, but I happen to love it. Tessa is this adorable ball of happiness and sunshine and kittens. My favorite song on this album is either Just Right or Make me a Robot.

I also love popular music (like everyone else on this planet) and so here are some popular songs that are awesome.


1989-Taylor Swift We all knew this was going to be on the list. Its just such an amazing album with such variety throughout. Fav song? Wildest Dream or Blank Space.

X-Ed Sheeran Beautiful, catchy, romantic, artistic, supercalifragilistic... These are just some of the adjectives I would use to describe this album. Some of my favorite songs from this album? Photograph, Afire Love (this one made me tear up when I heard what it was about and really listened to the lyrics) and, of course, Thinking out Loud.

Thinking Out Loud-Ed Sheeran This songs gets its own entry, even though its included in the X album, because of its sheer brilliance and romance. I aspire to have a relationship like the one in this song. Every lyric is beautiful and so insightful.

Nick Jonas-Nick Jonas While I don't like every song on this album, I have to commend Nick Jonas for making a comeback. And a very good comeback. Some good songs on this album are Warning, Wilderness, Avalanche and Chains.

Classic-MTKO

If I'm being honest here, every single girl on the planet wishes that this song was about them or that someone would sing it to them. I could listen to this song on repeat for DAYS.

Its All About Us- Alex and Sierra

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. The combination of their amazing voices, relatable lyrics and the whole they-are-dating-and-are-a-pop-duo thing makes them my favorite musical couple. Besides maybe Michelle and John Phillips.

Fav song? I love every song but the ones I think that got to me, the ones that really made me feel feels, the ones I related to the most, those ones would be Little Do You Know and I Love You. I Love You especially gets to me, its such a beautiful song. So simple and charming. I wish that their version of love was the one that everyone has. It would make things much simpler. 

I do also have a weakness for Just Kids. Its like the anthem of my life. Except I don't set things on fire. 

There are so many other musical things that I didn't have space to do them justice. Honorable Mentions: Lindsey Stirling's Shatter Me, Piano Guy's Wonders, Damien Rice's My Favorite Faded Fantasy and many more.

15 things I learned in 2014

2014 has been one of the best years of my life and I learned a LOT during that time. Ranging from little things to lessons that I'll never forget, 2014 definitely had a lot of learning involved.

1. Its okay that life is messy. I usually am a perfectionist but this year I learned that some of the best things aren't planned and perfected. That being said....
2. I really need to work on my planning skills.  This is mostly my conversation skills with my mum. She never hears when I say, "Oh, I've been invited to a party on Thursday. Can I go?" I actually have a system. When I have a party or something, I remind my mum a week before, 4 days before, 2 days before, the night before, three hours before, an hour before and ten minutes before we have to leave. Then we actually GET THERE IN A TIMELY MANNER.
3. Don't be ashamed of buying so many books. I don't give a damn what other people say. My money, my rules.
4. Its sometimes good to be alone. I spend a lot of time alone so this is something you'd think I already knew. But I always felt like I was defective or something for being so anti-social and shy, but now I realize it's perfectly okay.
5. Sometimes people don't agree. I always thought that people would agree on bigger issues because there is an obvious right side and wrong side, but this year I learned that there are many sides to an argument and sometimes you need to argue it out.
6. I need to work on my arguing skills. I get into a lot of arguments and sometimes I get so worked up that I end up yelling.
7. Don't always get the same drink at Starbucks. I am so tired of chai tea lattes...
8. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't make it right. You might think that this realization came from something like abortion or drugs or something, but no. I realized this while shopping for skinny jeans....Just because everyone is wearing them doesn't make them a good fashion choice. I did still get a pair though BUT ITS BECAUSE I NEED THEM FOR MY NEW BOOTS. Damn it....I'm turning into a basic white girl....
9. When people say they are going to do things don't expect them to ACTUALLY do it. I'm still waiting on my henna, Dani.....
10. Staying up till 4am is more of a sad thing than a cool thing. I really need to get more sleep.
11. A few close friends are better than a lot of so-so friends. I know this is an old thing, but I'm just learning this now. I can count my close friends on one hand.
12. Sometimes you just need to walk it off. I've taken a lot of walks this year....
13. I need to work on my people skills. In general I think they are okay...But I need to be more open and friendly with people.
14. Keep in close contact with people you meet. I learned that you really have to work to have a friendship and this means staying up late to write an email,  listening to someones problems, or going to a party when you really just want to sleep!
15. The best things in life are simple. A cup of tea, a good book, a close friend, a warm bed, and email from a friend...I could go on forever. (Although there is Nutella and Nutella is anything but simple.)

So theres that...

I plan to do more 2014 themed posts, but until Monday I'm off camping!! Yay...

My Doctor Who Barnes and Noble experience

Right now I'm at Barnes and Noble. I've been here for about 2 hours, (this is what happens when your mom meets someone at Barnes and Noble and you decide at the last minute to go with her and do an impressive "two minute-get dressed/brush teeth and hair/grab backpack and laptop and rush out the door" routine.)
So for the first hour I read a Ms. Marvel comic book, sipped Peppermint Hot Chocolate (apparently there is coffee in Peppermint Hot Chocolate and this is why I had the energy to walk around for a hour and this is also why I'm about to collapse on the floor) and did some research on my computer. The second hour I decide to get up and look around for a book and I spent 45 minutes just wandering around not finding anything that was in my price range (which to be honest was fairly small.) Finally I found a Doctor Who TARDIS string of lights that I had seen before and was tempted to buy, but was eventually off put by the price  ($20.) But today it was 50% off and I thought, "Ehh...Why not? These will look awesome in my room." And so after pick out an Agatha Christie book (Spider's Web) I decided to check out. Upon arriving at the checkout counter I had a interesting conversation with the guy who was manning the cashier.

Me: Here we go *places lights and book on counter*
Guy: Awesome! Wait are these 50% off?! I'll have to go get some! Is this the last one?
Me: No there are one or two left.
Guy: Great. I'm definitely going to get one.
Me: So I'm guessing you're a Doctor Who fan?
Guy: Oh yeah, I'm a huge fan.
Me *immediate respect for this guy* So have you seen the Christmas special yet?
Guy: Not yet. Its been a bit of a hard time for me with Capaldi.
Me: Same here! I mean I like him, but I just really miss Matt Smith.
Guy: Yeah, Matt Smith was amazing.
Me: So what do you think of Clara? I know there is some controversy there.
Guy: I think she's cool, but I liked Amy Pond better. Clara is good, but she is much better with Matt Smith, that half season was just them having fun. There was a some great chemistry there.
Me: Yeah, I really miss Matt Smith.
Guy: Yeah me too.
*moment of silence for the past Doctor*
Guy: So these where in the back? *points at the lights*
Me: Yep! In the clearance thing in the middle of the store.
Guy: Great! Thanks!
Me: Welcome!

*end conversation*

There is nothing more amazing then finding another Whovian NOT on the internet.

The Lovers' Leap Story

So when Whaleton, the gang and I went to Lovers' Leap we asked my mom about that name and she said that she didn't know where the name came from and it was probably just a random name that they choose to fit the place. So we decided it need a backstory. So here is my completely random and made up story.

(Please Note: no teacup pigs were harmed the making of this story.)

   Once Upon A Time... in a little town called Waco, there were two pig farms, Cherries and Almonds. Pig farms for Unusually Miniscule and Petite Animals (known at this time as UMPA pigs) to be more specific. As is usually the case, the owners of the farms were sworn enemies and all that. But there is a little more backstory. You see the owner of the Cherries farm, Eliza, loved cherries and only fed her UMPA pigs cherries and the owner of the Almond farm, Jacob, loved almonds and only fed his UMPA pigs almonds. This would have been all fine and dandy, but Eliza hated almonds and Jacob hated cherries. So they were constantly at war with each other.

   Well the two farms were in fairly close proximity, on account of only needing a little room to raise UMPA pigs, and so Eliza and Jacob saw each other everyday when they went out to get their mail. And everyday they brought their number one cutest UMPA pig. In Eliza's case it was Cherryblossom and in Jacob's it was Darcy.

   After a few years of this going on Cherryblossom and Darcy fell in love. No reason why or long backstory of their compatibility and romantic exploits, sometimes love just happens when you least expect it. They use to meet at this cliff that overlooked a river and just sit in the sun and watch the river, never talking or saying anything (because they're PIGS for God's sake. This isn't freaking Narnia.)

   One day, while they were looking over the cliff, their owners went looking for them. Cherryblossom and Darcy heard them coming and looking over their shoulders (with much difficulty because again...THEY ARE PIGS) they saw their owners coming straight for them! Knowing that if they got caught they would never see each other again, they looked at each other and immediately knew what to do (I think you can tell where this is going...)

  With one last look, they jumped over the side of the cliff.....and were caught by a giant golden eagle. But if you think our heroes are safe you are sadly mistaken, for because of the extra weight the (although small) pigs, the eagle tipped forward and the tiny pigs landed in.... the tea cup of a girl who was at having a cup of chai tea at Dichotomy. And that is how the name teacup pigs came to be.

THE END
P.S. The girl gave the teacup pigs to a farmer who fattened them up and ate them for Christmas. Sorry, but thats just the circle of life. *cue the Lion King music*

Thoughts had while trying on makeup for the first time

I'm not a terribly lady-like or girly girl. I only wear concealer when I have the mandatory  teenage acne and I use chapstick or a tinted lip balm (its similar to lipstick but it sounds more fancy when you say it like that.) But this all changed when I had a conversation with my mother...

*Walks into Walgreens*
*Walks down the Makeup aisle in search of shoe polish*
Mum: Would you like to wear makeup?
Me: Uhhhh....What?
Mum: Well not like all the makeup girls wear nowadays, but do you want to start wearing makeup?
Me: I guess I could try it out....
Mum: I don't want you wearing tons of concealer, but maybe a little makeup around your...
*Here she gets distracted by Walgreens savings*
Me: Eyes? You know I only wear concealer on occasion so I have no idea how to use eye makeup.
Mum: Yes. I think you could wear a little around your eyes. And I've got some stuff that you can mess around with at home.
Me: Okay then.... I'll give it a try.
*End conversation*

Then today as I was getting ready for mass and putting on the concealer (in my mom's bathroom  because the concealer is actually my mom's, which tells you about my makeup buy habits) my mother pulls a eye liner thingy out of her bathroom. I let her put a little eyeliner around my eyes and it look...pretty.  It made my eyes look feminine and kinda flirty... I was not entire opposed to it. I thought nothing of it until I went to Target with my sister, Mita and my neighbor and good friend Mimi. There Mimi spotted a $5 eye makeup kit and thats how I wound up with makeup in my bedroom at 9 at night. I know the saying is "Nothing good ever happens after 2am," but for me its, "Nothing ever happens after 9pm when you are bored" and so I have decided to try out this eye makeup.

Thoughts
So in what order am I supposed to do this?
Ok so start with eye shadow.
Ohh that looks pretty. Maybe I should put a little more on....
NOPE TOO MUCH. I look like a racoon.
Ok so eyeliner next.
Now I get why girls complain about this stuff so much.

Whaleton's Visit-Day 5 and 6

So as of now Whaleton is Brownwood, Texas, with her grandmother on her dad's side. Which means she isn't with me. Which means our trip is over and I've slipped into a detox of Whaleton which is never a pretty thing. Its like that feeling after you go to a party, you had fun and you are glad it happened but there is this little feeling of sadness that the fun is over and you have to go back to normal life now. Imagine that feeling times about 10000. That is what I'm feeling right now. Anyway..... enough with the self pitying and moving on with the purpose of this last Whaleton's Visit post.

Day 5, Tuesday the 16th of December
So we bargained and pleaded with the adults to let us see a movie and they did.....with much passive aggressiveness. So they dropped us off at Jason's Deli (we have a tradition to eat there and then see a movie) and we had lunch there and we saw Mimi's dad! Which was a surprise! So we all ordered (Whaleton I'm sorry about the salad bar thing, from now on don't listen to a word I say)  and ate quickly and then we had free ice cream. Now TECHNICALLY when they say free ice cream they mean in little cones or bowls, but we filled to-go cups with ice cream and had milkshakes (after the ice cream had finally melted a bit.) Then we went to the theater. After smuggling the milkshakes in Whaleton and I saw the movie The Theory of Everything. WHICH WAS REALLY GOOD DESPITE WHAT EVERYONE IS TELLING ME ABOUT STEPHEN HAWKINGS. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, JUST BECAUSE I DON'T AGREE WITH HIM DOESN'T MEAN I HAVE TO HATE THE MAN, HE HAS SOME VALID THEORIES. Grrrrrrrrrr.... I spent all Tuesday and Wednesday telling people that "Oh I saw the Theory of Everything about Stephen Hawkings" and the reaction EVERY SINGLE TIME WAS "Oh thats the atheist with the blasphemous theories right?" Ok, not every time. One person didn't, but that is possibly because he thought I was talking about the Imitation Game. Anyway after that we drove by the house on our street that is going to be on Fixer Upper. And then that night Whaleton and I watched Love Actually (wow that movie....) and I drank an entire bottle of fake champagne (only because Whaleton didn't want an on account of it being carbonation and I wasn't about to share it with anyone else.)

Day 6, Wednesday the 17 of December
So the parents spent the morning at the shooting range (this is Texas after all) so we spent the day in bed looking at pictures of Yorkshire puppies and planning to move to Yorkshire for a semester in college. I chatted with a few friends online and then we scrolled through Facebook making fun of people. Then we went back out and shoot at some tin cans with the BB gun in our PJs.

Whaleton has "accidentally" deleted all pictures of her in her PJS, but there are pictures of us when we got dress and did an ANTM style photo shoot (no pun intended. You know? Because we are shooting things with the BB gun and taking pictures? Oh never mind....)

And can I just say that I shot five cans in a row WITHOUT MY GLASSES. And my eyesight is so bad that at one point Whaleton was looking at a picture of a mountain on the bed next to me and I thought it was Tyler Oakley. She was literally three feet away and I thought it was Tyler Oakely...

That evening we played Flashlight tag in the Lot Next Door which was AWESOME! I would love to play it with people who are not under the age of 11 and throw tantrums when they get caught, but besides that it was awesome! Then we had delicious stew and bread for dinner and then Whaleton and I went upstairs and watched some HIMYM and talked for a bit and then went to bed.

Thursday was pretty much packing, law breaking, biscuits and bacon, and tears. And thats about it. I had Mock Trial that evening and when I got home I ran upstairs to tell Whaleton everything and vent about certain things and she wasn't there. And that was heartbreaking. GOD I MISS HER.

Whaleton's Visit-Day 3 and 4

Day 3, Sunday the 14th of December
After the usual Sunday brunch, we embarked on a voyage to Barnes and Noble. While there we ran into Stan, our former art teacher, and I didn't buy a book. I know, I know. Totally out of character for me and I really really really wanted to, but I didn't. Mainly because of the fact that there weren't any good books and the only books I wanted (Fangirl and Eleanor and Park), I haven't read before so I don't know if they are good or not (I suspect they are.) Anyway after we got home, we had spaghetti and meatballs or just meatballs in Whaleton's and my case. During dinner Whaleton and I watched Cutthroat Kitchen and can I just say that CHIEF MCNUTT WAS ROBBED. SHE HAD TO COOK ON A CAMPFIRE STOVE AND SHE HAD TO SWITCH ALL HER INGREDIENTS AND EVEN THOUGH CHIEF BRIAN LOOKS LIKE RORY WILLIAMS HE STILL IS A TERRIBLE CHIEF AND DIDN'T DESERVE TO WIN.
Okay, okay....I'm cool...I'm cool...
After that we had an awesome, epic, and intense ping pong tournament. The last match was between Sharkie and me. It was close.....but Sharkie won. (Actually it wasn't close at all. She totally whipped my butt.)
Then....sleep.

Day 4, Monday the 15th of December
Okay so Monday was arguably the best day of the trip. Why you ask? Because we had a meeting with an admission counselor at Baylor.

So a bit of backstory. Whaleton and I have always wanted to go to Baylor, its our dream. We've talked about it for years and this past year or so we really started to make plans. So auntie had called for Whaleton to take a look at the school and she asked me to go with her so we embarked on a mission to take our future in hand.

When we got to the administration office we filled out this little cards that put us in the system and after the secretary offered us some drinks (Dr. Pepper for me, water for Whaleton because she hates carbonation....weirdo...) we sat down and waited for a few minutes until our counselor came in. She took us to her office and for about 30-45 minutes we discussed Baylor as a prospective college choice. Auntie talked a lot. Most of the time actually. Repeating the same things over and over and over. But we did get to ask some questions that will be helpful when we apply. Cene, the counselor also gave us notebooks, folders and real Dr. Pepper (Whaleton gave hers to me.)
After that we met mum at Common Grounds and I got a butterbeer which was so ridiculously delicious!!! We sat down and basically planned out our entire future.

Common Grounds also spelled my name wrong on my cup and Whaleton tried to hide and save me from that, but it was too late. The damage had been done.

Whaleton's Visit-Day 1 and 2

So the greatest thing in the world has happened- I got into the National Honor's Society!!


Just kidding.
I did get in, but the greatest thing in the world that happened is that WHALETON CAME TO VISIT!! *crazy dancing* Oh and Sharkie came too....
Unfortunately they are only coming for six days and not forever like I wish she would (actually that is a possibility, but more on that later.) Anyway because we both like to document our adventures here, we've decided to do that now. (You can read Whaleton's side here: http://whaletonsvoyage.blogspot.com/)

Day 1, Friday the 12 of December.
We woke up and talked for a bit (she's staying in my room) and then we were called downstairs for morning ritual and breakfast. After we came back upstairs and got dressed and talked some more. Then we went over to Grandma's for lunch and while I was making lunch and watching People's Court, Whaleton fulfilled her cousinly duty to the youngsters by playing Foursquare with them. Apparently she fell and scraped her hand (which I think is just a ploy to get sympathy so she could easily beat the kids at Foursquare.)
After that we watch Divorce Court and ate doritos and cookies.
We literally spent the rest of afternoon doing nothing. Absolutely nothing and it was glorious.
Then mum dragged us to Target so we could purchase a gift for Jane's birthday party. And we ended up buy tons of stuff....but very little of it was for Jane. We bought Christmas presents for each other and Whaleton and I bought matching mugs with little sweaters.
Then we went to a birthday party at the Winter Wonderland. AND. THAT. WAS. AWESOME.
It was slightly awkward because we told the mother in charge that we just were going to wander around and not get involved because technically Whaleton and Sharkie were not invited. So we payed for our tickets to ice skate and everything, but were kinda forced to stay with the group most of the time. (We did get to escape to devour fried food: funnel cake in my case and fried oreos in Whaleton's.) But other than that we had an awesome time! We skated.... Went on a carriage ride... And a ferris wheel... And after we were so tired, but so happy.

  

Day 2, Saturday the 13 of December

So Saturday morning we were told that we had the option to go to the Waco Farmer's Market. I was like, "yes, Yes YES!" But Whaleton seemed strangely not really into it. But being a good sport we piled into the car and went to the FM. Upon arrival her reaction was, and here I quote Whaleton, "It was the most amazing place ever and not what I expected." We wandered around for a while. Then we had delicious burritos. We eat them so fast! And also some cinnamon buns.

Then we walked around for a while, and saw Thomas, Megan and Dani. We also wrote on the "Before I die..." board. Whaleton wrote "Go to Australia." And I wrote "Live in London." After that we went to Cameron's Trading Center to look for something I need for a present for Mita. We didn't find it, but we did go to Dichotomy after and sat on the roof top and looked over Waco and that was so much fun.

After that mum wanted to show auntie more things around Cameron Park, so we went to Lover's Leap and looked over the edge and then I remember how much I hate heights.... But we got some cute pictures and then we FINALLY went home.

And after about an hour of rest, we went to mass. Where I got to introduce Whaleton around, was forced to sing in a childrens choir, see some friends who I haven't seen in a while, have an EXTREMELY awkward conversation with the quietest person I know, see Nicolas, who I haven't seen it what feels like forever, and talk to Megan some more.
Then we went home and SLEPT.

#HappyNOTThanksgiving

Whaleton and I celebrate a special holiday, NOT Thanksgiving. We even have a hashtag for it and we HATE hashtags. We celebrate this wonderfully non thankful holiday because of the overhype of Thanksgiving. I mean its great to be thankful and we are thankful for things, but it gets old. Reaaaaal quick. We got sick of all the annoying thankfulness that comes after a turkey dinner. People are ALWAYS saying they are thankful for things after Thanksgiving and because we are rebels we thought "Lets not be thankful after Thanksgiving. Just to spice things ups." So we say #HappyNOTThanksgiving.

Things I am Not Thankful For.

1. Our Education system.
   I think its totally unfair to base someones IQ and future on a bunch of standardized tests. Everybody is different and if someone is really good at art and music, but can't get math and science down, this severely limits their options for the future. This is pretty much me complaining about school...
2. All the Christmas Decorations. I LOVE Christmas, don't get me wrong, Definitely my favorite holiday of all time. But as soon as Halloween is over there are Santa Clauses and sleighs and reindeer all over the place! I would be thankful if the store waited till two or three weeks before Christmas before setting up the plastic junk.
3. Sickness. I have been sick three times in the last month. THREE. FREAKING. TIMES. Granted its probably because of my terrible diet and eating habits, but still.... I hate colds. 
4. Slow Internet. My internet has been the speed of a stoned turtle walking through molasses in January these past few days. It sucks.
5. Waiting for shows on Netflix and Hulu. Please.... I NEED the next episode of Gracepoint. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TOMMY KNOWS AND WHY HE SMASHED HIS COMPUTER. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF MY SANITY. Also is Susan involved in any way? Mark seems like the obvious suspect and God I hate the man, but did he murder his own son? What about Vince? What is he hiding? Is Emmett's heart going to fail? And what about Gemma? Will Beth ever heal and will she keep the baby? Where did Danny go the night of the murder? I HAVE QUESTIONS.

And there we have it. Things I am not thankful for.
